FAS has a wide network of African and international partners for its programmes. This represents a great potential for FAS outreach capacity, and thus allow FAS to identify easily the most appropriate partners to be approached according to the scope of the activity, project or programmes to be undertaken. As a key partner in the monitoring of the SDGEA, members of the “Gender is my agenda” campaign (GIMAC) will be involved in the third edition of the African Gender Forum and Award (AGFA).
Governments
AGFA benefits from the leadership and strong support of H.E President Abdoulaye Wade of Senegal. For the 2009 Edition FAS is contacting its usual donors and will, in this context, approach as well the Governments of Portugal and Brazil, the EU delegation in Mozambique (Award recipient) and Dakar (Place of event).
UN Agencies & International Organizations
Committed partners to AGFA such as UNECA, UNDP and UNCTAD will be invited to participate in this new edition along with the CSW, ILO, UNRISD, the WB, IMF, AfDB, WTO, FAO and WFP. These organizations have been approached whether because they are specialized on the issues targeted by the 2009 Forum, which are “fuel, food and finance”. The others will be invited as technical partners, speakers or panel members.
Foundations & Companies
The Private Sector of Mozambique, the 2009 Award recipient country, has been invited to attend the Award Ceremony that always follows the Forum. On the financial side, foundations such as “Nestlé sustainable development foundation” or “Total Foundation” have been approached to support the event.
